The Corona virus outbreak has hit the countries' tourism industries harder than one could ever imagined. Sri Lanka, then  emerald island of Indian ocean  is also a country which depends on tourism and has been named as the go-to destination for year 2019 by Lonely-Planet.BUT..the paradise seems far away now..

How ever  this story is a different one..At the moment, millions of travelers are tucked in countries they've  visited when the air lines are stopped, coming in or going out is prohibited, simply in this global lock down. most of them may have spent all of their money: no money for food or accommodation in a strange country where you're far from loved ones..Imagine you being there with very little support.

But..Sri lanka has other plans.. The island nation, renounced for its generosity and hospitality for years has stepped to the task.They have initiated a program called "Tourism Disaster Monitoring and Hosting Program" where locals will provide you food, a home and a family to take care with. The tourists are well cared until they can go back to their normal lands after pandemic is controlled.

The island nation may be tiny in size, poor in economy but very rich in humanity and generosity. As tourists, the best way to show gratitude for them is visiting the emerald island again once things are normal in the world and help them to grow their economy.
